Different grades of stainless steel have different grades of resistance to rust staining or tea leafing, caused by oxidization. Lower grades of stainless steel tend to stain faster. You can use SoSafe Metal Bright to clean and pacify the surface.

How to remove rust from stainless steel

1. Wear safety goggles and gloves.
2. Wipe surface with a rag / scourer.
3. Apply SoSafe Metal Bright to rust stain / tea leafing.
4. Use a sponge or low abrasive scourer to coat the effected area.
5. Wait 5 – 10 minutes.
6. Apply a little more Metal Bright to lubricate the surface between the low abrasive scourer / sponge.
7. Rub the surface in a light circular motion, the stain will release.
8. Rinse with water & dry.
9. (OPTION) To protect surface, follow up by wiping over surface with SoSafe Stainless Steel Polish.

Tools – how to remove spray paint from a car or truck

safety gear, gloves, goggles, soft white rag x2, bucket of water and SoSafe Yellow Graffiti Remover.

Process

1. Test product in an inconspicuous area to confirm product compatibility.
2. Wipe spray painted surface clean of dust, dirt or any debris which could scratch the surface.
3. Working in small areas at a time, apply a small amount of SoSafe Yellow Graffiti Remover to spray paint (graffiti).
4. Use white rag, to wipe drips away.
5. Wait 15 seconds and gentle dab spray paint with white rag to see if loose. If loose, gently wipe graffiti away from surface, using a fresh section of the cloth on each wipe. If graffiti not loose, wait an additional 10 seconds and try again. DO NOT use force.
6. Once the section is clean, apply dip a new rag in fresh water and apply to surface, this will deactivate SoSafe Yellow from working.
7. Proceed to next section of spray paint required to be removed.

What type of substrate has the graffiti been applied to? & What type of graffiti has been applied?

The SoSafe manual indicates the correct graffiti removal products to use on particular substrates. This section will cover the main types of graffiti, namely: aerosol spray paint & marker pen.

There are four controllable factors that should be understood when removing graffiti.

• Time
• Temperature
• Agitation (Brush / Pressure Washing)
• Chemical

Time – The longer the contact time the deeper the graffiti remover will penetrate. The more
sensitive the surface the shorter the time the graffiti product is on the surface.

Temperature – Warmer weather speeds up the rate in which the graffiti remover products
operate.

Agitation – When graffiti removal products are applied by means of hard bristled brushes or
scourers, it assists in breaking the bond between the graffiti and the surface. NOTE: be
careful on sensitive surfaces, otherwise the underlying surface maybe damaged while removing graffiti.

Chemical – Use the right chemical for the task at hand (review the product selection guide).
To compensate for any reduction in one of these for variables increase one of the other
variables ie. Should the temperature be cold, increase the contact time between the graffiti
and the graffiti remover, alternatively you could increase the temperature, by using a hot water
pressure washing system.

Once you understand the above components, you too can become an expert at removing graffiti.
